Today is International Guide Dog Day.
We’re shining a spotlight on the incredible fundraising efforts of our learners, which has contributed towards sponsoring a guide dog puppy.
Guide Dogs UK, which helps people with sight loss, is one of the charities that we support.
Throughout the academic year, learners participate in a variety of fundraising events, including bake sales and raffles. Learners sell their arts and crafts creations at our seasonal fair. Parents also support with donations.
Regent College donated £200 to Guide Dogs UK, which contributed towards sponsoring a guide dog puppy called Kevin.
Throughout Kevin’s training journey, learners received regular ‘pupdates’ and photos.
We recently found out that Kevin has graduated from puppy school and is now a fully qualified guide dog. All made possible thanks to the donated funds.
Amy Booth is a tutor at Regent College. She said:
“Learners have enjoyed receiving regular updates about Kevin over the past 24 months, with one learner in particular regularly asking about the puppy’s progression.
“It has been a great project for learners to be involved in. We look forward to sponsoring another guide dog puppy and watching their progression.”
